Our North Korea Bike Tour is unlike any tour ever offered in the DPRK! We¡¯ll cycle west for 45 km on the Road of Youth Heroes and tackle 30 km of beautiful, winding roads leading from Chonnae County to the picturesque Ulim Waterfalls. We¡¯ll supplement these treks with leisurely rides like our 16 km ride through the Sinpyong Kumggang Resort and a 4 km city ride through the streets of Pyongyang! On top of that, we¡¯ll provide as many opportunities as possible for you to experience North Korean people and culture, whether it¡¯s beach volleyball at the Majon Pleasure Ground or mixing with locals on Kwangbok Street. Day 1: Beijing
Arrive in Beijing, China and check in at Holiday Inn Express Beijing Dongzhimen near the Sanlitun Village. Check-in is at 2pm.

7pm: A member of our Beijing team will welcome you in the lobby of the hotel and will host the group to a traditional Beijing dinner and group orientation.

Day 2: Depart for North Korea!
AM: The group will meet in the lobby of the hotel and travel together to Beijing Capital International Airport. We'll fly to Pyongyang, North Korea's capital city and home to some of the country's most revered cultural landmarks. Local DPRK tour guides will meet us at Sunan International Airport.

PM: On the way to central Pyongyang, we'll stop at the Arch of Triumph, the world's largest triumphal arch, and the Mansudae Grand Monuments known for its large bronze statues of the DPRK leaders. We'll then proceed to the famed Yanggakdo International Hotel. Optional evening event at the Kaesong Youth Amusement Park.

Day 3: Pyongyang City Tour and DPRK National Day (for Fall Edition)
AM: This morning, we'll begin at the Manyongdae Native House, the birthplace of Kim Il Sung. Afterwards, we'll take a ride on the Pyongyang Metro and rub shoulders with local commuters going about their daily activities. See the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum and USS Pueblo.

PM: After lunch, we'll visit Moran Hill where most Pyongyangers go to relax and picnic. You'll see artists who have set up shop, kids playing sports, or people come out to dance during big holidays (like National Day)! You'll have the option of watching the Pyongyang circus or a theatre performance (subject to confirmation). Then we'll rub shoulders with the youngsters of Pyongyang at the Pyongyang Skate Park. Finish the night at the Rakwon Microbrewery (can't beat $1 drafts).

For DPRK National Day tours, we'll join in on mass dances, watch fireworks in the square and may even have the chance to see a military parade!

Day 4: Kaesong and the DMZ
AM: Enjoy a morning drive through the countryside to Kaesong, the former capital of the Koryo Dynasty and pre-war intellectual seat of the entire Korean Peninsula. We'll continue to Panmunjom and the DMZ, where we will be given a tour by a North Korean military officer. We will see where the armistice was signed, and take a trip to the border between the North and the South. Afterwards, we'll had to the Koryo History Museum, Sonjuk Bridge and the local Stamp Shop.

PM: In the afternoon, we'll drive to the folk city of Sariwon. Here, we'll start our 26 km cycling tour from Sariwon to Hwangju county (never before cycled route) as we make our way back to Pyongyang. Back in the capital, take in a panoramic view of Pyongyang as well as learn about the DPRK's philosophy atop the Tower of Juche Idea. We'll cap off the night with a stroll along the Taedong River promenade and dinner on the Taedonggang Boat. Here, dinner is a la carte and not included. Boat departs at 7pm and docks at 7:45pm.

Day 5: Pyongyang Bike Tour and Nampho
AM: Our action-packed day begins with a visit to the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun where the late leaders lie in state. Formal attire is required for this event. Then we will take a 5 km bike ride along the Taedong River from the Yanngak Bridge to the Taedong Gate. Stock up on souvenirs at the Foreign Languages Bookshop and take in the sights at the Kim Il Sung Square.

PM: Visit the Grand People's Study House, where many North Koreans go to study and socialize with other students. In addition to being a gathering place for many of Pyongyang's young students, the Grand People's Study House provides one of the city's best views of the Kim Il Sung Square. Then we drive to Nampho and as a special addition to this tour, we visit the Cholima Steel Factory (hard hats provided). Enjoy the evening at the Ryonggang Spa House where you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a genuine DPRK clam bake with your driver and local guides, challenge fellow travelers to table tennis or billiards and take one of the Ryonggang's famous hot mineral baths in the comfort of your own private villa.

Day 6: West Sea Barrage, Wonsan
AM: This morning, we'll visit the West Sea Barrage, an incredible system of water locks and dams that regulates the flow of sea water into the Taedong River. We'll follow that up with a drive back to Pyongyang and a relaxing lunch.

PM: Get ready to start our east coast journey. We'll start off with a drive, then cycle 16km from the Tomb of King Tongmyong to Sangwon County. Take a short break at the Sinpyong Tea House and then take a coveted peek into the Masikryong Ski Resort! We continue to Wonsan where we'll enjoy a fresh seafood dinner and a stay at the Tongmyong Hotel. There will be an optional evening walk along the Jangdok Islet and a clam BBQ (1 Euros to enter the islet and clams can be purchased at local stands). Feel free to ask our guides to point out where the new underwater hotel will be built!

Day 7: Cycling in Wonsan and Beach day in Hamhung
AM: This morning, cycle from the Tongmyong Hotel to the busy Kaeson Square in Wonsan. Continue cycling to the Songdowon Beach for a dip in the sea!

PM: We'll have lunch and then pack up for a fascinating ride through the countryside to Hamhung, North Korea's second largest city and one of the country's industrial centers.  We'll observe one of the DPRK's model farming communities at the Tongbong Cooperative Farm. Afterwards, we'll take a dip at the Majon Pleasure Ground, Hamhung's biggest beach locations. Visit several Hamhung mainstays, including the Mount Tonghung Revolutionary Site, the Hamhung Grand Theatre and the famed Hungnam Fertilizer Factory.  In the evening, we may even have time to take on locals in a beach volleyball game. Overnight at the Majon Rest House. Clam and crab BBQ is optional and paid separately on site.

Day 8: Ulim Waterfalls, Return to Pyongyang
AM: After an early morning departure from Hamhung, we'll cycle a dazzling 30 km route from Chonnae County to the Ulim Waterfalls. Once we arrive, we'll take in the local scenery over a relaxing afternoon picnic.

PM: We'll continue our journey back to Pyongyang and, after a nice dinner, test your shooting skills at the Meari Shooting Range. Tonight, we'll enjoy drinks, laughter and memories of our spectacular bike tour over a dinner and drinks at the the Diplomatic Club. 

Day 9: Bon Voyage!
Morning departure to Beijing. Estimated time of arrival is 10:00 a.m. local time, although flight times are subject to final confirmation. Please reserve connecting flights departing after 2pm local time, to allow sufficient time for immigration/customs clearance, baggage claim and re-check-in.
