Day 1:Shanghai
The guide would be awaiting with a welcoming sign featuring our logo at the airport before the landing time. There would be no itinerary arranged for the rest of the day, considering your need to soothe the fatigue from the long-haul flight.

 

Day 2:Shanghai
With an experienced guide meeting you at the hotel, this day's destinations include Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, a museum stresses on urban planning, architecture, modern history of the metropolis, with seasonal art exhibitions and others. After that, feel free to have a captivating walk around the Bund and Nanjing Road, the upscale and busiest shopping hub of Shanghai, before proceeding to the Yuyuan Garden, a former privately-owned garden of traditional southern China architectural style, comprises of pavilions, ponds, bridges, rockeries trees and the likes. Afterwards, please take some time to roam about the nearby Yuyuan Market and Xintiandi (New Spot), the most traditional street market with hundreds of stalls peddling all kinds of trinkets and the up-and-coming high-end neighborhood featuring series of bars, caf¨¦s, restaurants, spa centers, clubs, galleries, boutiques and so forth. The day would be summed up by a 45-minute cruise ride down the Huangpu River, passing by the wonderful night view of legions of skyscrapers along the river banks.

Day 3:Shanghai - Xian
Board a flight to Xian in the morning. After a special A La Carte lunch in a stylish local restaurant, this day's tour is surrounded on the historical side of Xian, featuring the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, a 43.4m (142ft) tall, 13-storey pagoda established during the Tang Dynasty, and the Xian Museum, showcasing nearly 15,000 pieces of items, right at the foot of it.

Day 4:Xian
The highlight of the day is without doubt the most renowned feature of Xian and one of the most recognizable cultural symbols of China, which has been exhibited in dozens of different countries around the world ¨C the Terracotta Army, or better known as Bing Ma Yong in Chinese. As you may have heard, Terracotta Army is an army consists of thousands of soldiers, horses, chariots and loads of other items made of terracotta, under the demand of Qin Shi Huang, the first-ever emperor of China around the early 3rd century. More history, sagas and anecdotes behind this mysterious masterpiece would be presented by our guide on the tour. In the afternoon, the tour would be taken back to the downtown Xian, around the Xian City Wall, the 25.7km fortifications enclosing the city used to be the capital of China for 13 dynasties. The wall can be dated back to as early as the late 2nd century, but the existing wall was established in Ming Dynasty. Apart from it, also on the itinerary are the Great Mosque, the oldest Islamic mosque in the country, erected in 742AD, and the Muslim quarter built around it, which is rife with excellent historical buildings, favorable eateries, souvenir shops and the likes.

Day 5:Xian - Dunhuang
Pick you up and transfer to the airport to take a flight to Dunhuang. Today you would experience the desert flavor along the Echoing-Sand Dune to Crescent Lake by riding a camel. Because Crescent Lake is embraced by the Singing Sands Mountain, it is definitely an incredible oasis in the Gobi desert. Naturally, the crescent-shaped lake has become a major tourist resort where one of the great holy lands to Buddhism resides in the world since Han Dynasty.

Day 6:Dunhuang - Turpan
The morning time is free for you. After lunch, the artistic Mogao Grottoes is waiting for your exploration. Listed as one of the three top grottoes in China, it is the largest, best preserved one of Buddhist art in the world with a lot of treasures that include invaluable paintings, sculptures, scriptures, historical documents, textiles, etc. After dinner, transfer you to the railway station and take an overnight soft-sleeper train to Turpan.

Day 7:Turpan
Today's tour is surrounded a series of miracle ancient projects, including Jiaohe Ruins, a great military city with 2300 years history and a witness of the economic development of Western and Eastern countries. Then visit the Karez Well which is an unique underground water system invented and built by the ancient farmers of various ethnic minorities of Turpan, which aiming to adapt to the basin natural environment, solar radiation and the atmosphere in the dry region. Apart from it, Sugong Pagoda is the next scenic spot. It is the largest ancient Islamic tower in Xinjiang Province and furthermore it is the only Islamic tower among the hundreds of famous towers in China.

Day 8:Turpan
Pay a visit to Gaochang Ruins, the largest city ruins in west China. It used to be a traffic hub for merchant traders traveling on the Silk Road. Then Baizikelik Thousand Buddha Caves is waiting for your exploration. The architectural art of grotto, the statuary art and the mural art here play an extremely important role in the Buddhism art in the district of central Asia and Middle East. Afterwards, Flaming Hill, the most famous scenic spot in Sinkiang would also be visited. It is said to be one of the 81 disasters encountered by Tang Monk and his prentices in Pilgrimage to the West.

Day 9:Turpan - Korla
Drive to Korla to visit the Tiemen Pass. The pass lies in gorge between Korla and Tash, which has been a strategic location since ancient times. It gets its name Tiemen Pass, which means Iron Gate, for solid and firm. Tiemen Pass is the throat part of the ancient Silk Road which leads to Tarim Basin, the largest inland basin in China.

Day 10:Korla - Minfeng (Niya)
Continue driving to g the Southern Silk Road, on the way you would enjoy the amazing scenery of the Taklamakan Desert, the largest desert in China and the second largest one in the world that just smaller than Sahara Desert in Africa. Fully 85 percent of the total area consists of mobile, crescent-shaped sand dunes that may reach a height of 100 to 200 meters and are virtually devoid of vegetation. The earliest record about this desert was from the development of the northern Silk Road as early as the first millennium BC when the Chinese used this route for military.

Day 11:Minfeng (Niya) - Hetian
After 6.5 hours driving, you would reach Hetian. Then transfer to the hotel.

Day 12:Hetian - Yarkand
Visit the productive process of silks, jade, carpets and knives. Then drive for about 5.5 hours to Yarkand to visit Amannishahan Tomb. Amannishahan was an outstanding poetess and musician. Amannishahan Tomb is a must see in Hotan because of its unique design and Islamic style.

Day 13:Yarkand - Kashgar
Drive for about 4 hours to Kashgar. Pay a visit to Id Kah Mosque, one of the largest mosques in China with strong national style and religious color. Thousands of people pay respects here each day. Apart from it, you would be guided to the grand Abakh Khoja Tomb which is the only Uigur concubine among the 41 wives of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty.

Day 14:Kashgar - Urumqi
Pay a visit of the lively Sunday Market. Not only can home-grown fruits, snacks, yogurt and handmade articles be found in the market, but also sheep, donkey, etc. As the window of Sinkiang, Sunday Market is the combination of Islamic culture, architecture, entertainment and catering. Then you will take a flight to Urumqi and transfer to the hotel.

Day 15:Urumqi - Beijing
The destination in Sinkiang is the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum. Then transfer to the airport and take a flight to Beijing. A little detour would be taken on the way to hotel, to the Bird's Nest stadium and Water Cube, the two ahead-of-the-time structures famed for not only holding most games during the 2008 Beijing Olympics, but also for their world-recognized, innovating appearances.

Day 16:Beijing
This day's excursion begins with the Temple of Heaven, the sacred venue where the Ming/Qing Emperors performed major sacrificial and praying ceremonies for good fortune, prosperity and blessings. After that, embark on a 1.5 to 2-hour ride to the leg of Great Wall situated in Mutianyu, a not-so-overcrowded section of the Great Wall which extends over 2km but features cable car up and down the mountainous part.

Day 17:Beijing
This day of the trip would start with a visit to the very heart of the country's capital, Tiananmen Square, a magnificent square extending in front of the Forbidden City, which has been the power center for nearly six centuries and has witnessed 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties carried out their administration, followed by a pleasant and a delightful afternoon in Summer Palace, the spectacular private garden for royal members only back in the imperial times.
