Day 1: Kunming Arrival
Arrive Kunming, our tour guide pick up and transfer to Hotel.Then visit West Hill, climb to Dragon Gate Grotto to have a bird view of
Lake Dian. Take Cable Car down to Lake Dian to see Sea Gulls.
Flight: Morning Flight,Reach Kunming Before 12:00.


¡ª West Hill
On the shore of the Dian Lake, stands a cluster of hills called "West Mountain". West Mountain Forest Park is renowned for its rolling mountains, tranquil forest with towering trees, singing birds and clear streams, and numerous historic sites. Looked from afar, the mountain resemble a giant reclining Buddha or a supine beauty, hence the name "Sleeping Buddha Mountain" and "Sleeping Beauty".
¡ª Dragon Gate Grotto
Delicate stone carving is the main feature of the Dragon Gate grotto. All stones are carved by hand in elegant layout and refined workmanship along the sheer cliffs of Arhat Peak. Sanqing Pavilion lying on cliffs just looks like a castle in the air. Looked afar, it is high up in the air and seems to be flying. How spectacular! Sanqing Pavilion is the seat of Taoism. The surrounding tablets and couplets add religious atmosphere and also contain living philosopher. Looking afar from the top of the Dragon Gate, you will have a panoramic view of Dian Lake.
¡ª Lake Dian
It was named of 'The Lake of Kunming' before it is called Dianchi.The elevation of the lake is 1886 meters, surrounded by tens of peaks , it is of magnificent scenery, it is called 'the pearl on the plateau'.Each Winter Thousands of Seagulls fly here for winter.

 

 

Day 2 : Kunming - Stone Forest - Kunming
Morning drive to visit Shilin County to visit Stone Forest. Afternoon Visit Jiuxiang Cave.Then back Kunming.


¡ª Stone Forest
One of the ¡°Nature's World Wonders¡±. In the Stone Forest, stone peaks rise abruptly from the ground in numerous layers like bamboo shoots, forests and pagodas, hence all visitors to Kunming from home and abroad never hesitate to admire the unique scenes formed by the stones.
¡ª Jiuxiang Cave
Jiuxiang is praised as the "Home of Karst caves". Altogether, there are "only" 100 caves in the area, the local saying goes, "If one spent his entire life counting the caves in Jiuxiang he may not finish the job". Among the caves are numerous natural bridges, valleys, rivers and waterfalls, making up an almost fantasy like subterranean world.

 

 

Day 3 :Kunming - Dali
Morning drive to Kunming Airport to take flight to Dali.Arrive in Dali, tour guide pick you up and transfer to Hotel.Visit Three Pagodas & Chongsheng Temple, and walk in Dali Old Town.

¡ªThree Pagodas & Chongsheng Temple
The Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple was originally built during the rein of Emperor Quan Fengyou of Nanzhao Kingdom (824-859). The large pagoda, called Qianxun Pagoda , was first built into a 16-storey one with a height of 69.13 m; the smaller northern pagoda and the southern one were built both in octagonal with 10 storeys and a height of 42.19 m. It is said that the three pagodas was constructed for the reasons of advocating Buddhism as well as dominating riddled floods in the area (according to local Buddhism culture, Buddhist pagoda can dominate beasts who control natural things such as flood). After the completion of the three imposing pagodas, a grand Chongsheng Temple was constructed later; and for several expansions in later periods, the temple reached its heyday in Song Dynasty (970-1279).
¡ª Dali Old Town
Dali Ancient City was built in 1382, it was named Yeyu City, Forbidden City, Zhonghe Town, the Cangshan Mountain is on the back of the ancient city of Dali, the city is facing the Erhai Lake. According to the ancient record, the city wall is about 8.3 meters tall and it is of a thickness of 6.6 meters.

 

 

Day 4 : Dali - Lijiang
Morning go for Erhai Cruise.Then head for Xizhou Village and fully appreciate the Bai-style traditional architectural courtyards, taste their fragrant Three-Course Tea and explore their distinctive culture. Drive to Lijiang and visit Lijiang Old Town.


¡ª  Erhai Lake
Located in Dali City, Erhai Lake is considered a Mother Lake of locals (Bai Minority) and it was cordially called as Gold Moon by Bai people.  Erhai was called Yeyushui or West Erhe in ancient times. The lake got its name from its ear-shape as ear called Er in Chinese.
¡ª Xizhou Village
Xizhou town, as the historical and cultural town in southwest China enjoys charming scenery and abundant resources. Houses of Bai people in Xizhou are unique in design with three huts, and one screen wall, four sides, and five courtyards. The outer walls are mainly painted with lime and fine silt. Bai ethnic residents attach great importance to the ornamentation of the screens, windows, gates, outer cross walls and arches over gateways; whether from the black tiles and white walls, or high rooftops and archways, you can find the architecture as a whole absorbs the residential features of western and regions south of the Yangtze River, making the houses distinctive and functional.
¡ª Lijiang Old Town
Lijiang Old Town's history goes back to 800 years ago as it was an important town of Song Dynasty. It has long been an important political and military town in western Yunnan and a hub for economy and culture communications between Han, Tibet and Naxi nationalities.The eye-catching waterwheel is the icon of Lijiang Old Town. In the town the streets follow the contour of mountains and rivers and are paved with red breccias engraved with elegant floral designs. The center of the old town is the Square Street (Sifang Street), which used to be the communication hub of Ancient Tea Horse Road (Southern Silk Road, an ancient road for tea-trading) and the haunt of Naxi traders in the past.

 

 

Day 5 :Lijiang - Jade Dragon Snow Mountain - Lijiang
Morning Drive to Jade Snow Dragon Mountain, take cable car to Galacier Park at 4680 meter. Watch Impression Lijiang Show. Visit Baisha Murals.


¡ªJade Snow Dragon Mountain
The Jade Dragon (Yulong) Snow Mountain is noted as the southernmost snow mountain in Northern Hemisphere. As a must-see attraction in Lijiang City, Yulong Snow Mountain is made up of 13 peaks with the highest one, Shanzidou, rising 5596 meters above sea level.
¡ªGalacier Park
Glacier Park is located on the Shanzidou Peak. There are totally 19 oceanic glaciers on the peak, including hanging glaciers and cirque glaciers. White Water Number.1 is the most-visited glacier. It looks just like a hanging waterfall from the heaven seen from the foot of the peak. The iceberg forest on the glacier tongue looks like knifes piercing into the sky. In addition, there are some remnants of glaciations, including the Ganheba Valley, which is a typical Alps-style glacier valley. Tourist can take a cableway to the Glacier Park. The cableway to the glacier park is the one of the heist elevation in Asia with a length of 2914 meters and a vertical drop of 1150 meters. After walking out of the cableway, tourists can walk to the highest viewing platform of the mountain (4591 meter above sea level).
¡ªImpression Lijiang Show
"Impression Lijiang Jokul" is a magnificant outdoor production held on a huge man-made stage at the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, 3,100m (10,170 feet) above sea level.It is a cultural show demonstrating the traditions and lifestyles of the Naxi, Yi and Bai peoples of the area. The show takes place inside Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Park at 3500 meters in an outdoor theater specifically designed to showcase the mountain which is used as a breath-taking backdrop.  
¡ªBaisha Murals
Baisha Old Town is the first settlement of Naxi People when they came into Lijiang basin and also the cultural origin.In the early Ming Dynasty, the Tusi of Mu clan built a huge group of Buddhist and Taoist constructions, among them Liuli Temple, Dabaji Palace, Dading Pavilion, Jingang Palace still exist today. And Dabaji Palace and Liuli Temple are the most famous ones of these ancient buildings for there are Baisha Frescos preserved in them. 

 

 

Day 6 :Lijiang - Tiger Leaping Gorge - Shangrila/Zhongdian
Morning Take drive to Shigu Town visit the First Bend of Yangtze River, then enjoy the great Canyon view at Tiger Leaping Gorge, continue to Baishuitai Water Terraces, finally reach Shangrila.


¡ª  First Bend of Yangtze River
About 44 miles outside of Lijiang, unusual geological phenomenons force the Yangtze to make a sudden V-shaped bend and flow to the northeast. This extraordinary turn, nearly180-degrees, creates beautiful and marvelous views that startle the imagination. Here, the river is wide and the water flows in a gentle, slow pace. Large willow trees grow luxuriously alongside the river that is banked on both sides with lush, fertile deep green vegetation and immense, steep mountains that rise up from the river to touch the clouds in the blue sky above. The whole sight is like a wonderful landscape painting that never ends.
¡ª  Tiger Leaping Gorge
Lying on the way to Shangri-La from Lijiang Old Town, Tiger Leaping Gorge is the longest, deepest, and narrowest gorge in the world. Around 18 km (11.23 miles) in length, it is located at the upper reach of the Golden Sands River; 60km (37.45 miles) from Lijiang Old Town. Flowing through Shigu Town which is known as the First Bend of the Yangtze River, the Golden Sand River turns around up north in the crack between Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain from which a gorge is formed. The narrowest part is where Tiger Leaping Gorge located. The whole scape is divided into three sections with curving road of 25 km (15.6 miles); they are the Upper section, the Middle section and the Lower section. With Jade Dragon Snow Mountain to its east and Haba Snow Mountain to the west, the gorge has a drop of 3790 meters (2.35 miles); which is higher than the famous Hells Canyon (2400 meters; 1.5miles) in USA. The narrowest part of the gorge is only 30 meters wide. There is a legend that a tiger once jumped across the gorge by clearing the rock from which the name Tiger Leaping Gorge comes. The gorge is dangerous with standing reefs, 21 dangerous shoals, 7 drop-ridge of 10 meters (32.8 ft) high and 10 waterfalls. The fall from the Upper Gorge to the Lower reaches 210 meters (689 ft) with an average of 14 meters per Kilometer. The river is in various states; sometimes it gallops with random stones and flying waves; sometimes it becomes misty with flying waterfalls; which forms a peculiar landscape.
¡ª  Baishuitai Water Terraces
Measuring 140 meters (about 459 feet) in length and 160 meters (about 525 feet) in width, it is one of the biggest such terraces in China.pring water gushes down the crystal terrace like a white waterfall from the mountains summit, while the ever thickening sodium carbonate creates the impression of a marble sculpture. It forms a startling contrast to the green mountain. The locals call this amazing natural sight a field left by fairies.This area has given birth to the Dongba Religion which forms the core of Naxi cultural values and traditions. The Baishuitai Terrace is a symbol for a growing flower, and a Dongba doctrine explains that the white color represents auspiciousness and sanctity. According to the Naxi people, only a person who actually visits the terrace can be a true believer in the Dongba religion.

 

 

Day 7 :Shangrila/Zhongdian
Morning Visit Ganden Sumtseling Monastery to learn Tibetan Buddhist Culture,afternoon visit Pudacuo National Park.


¡ª  Ganden Sumtseling Monastery
Ganden Sumtseling Monastery is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan province. It is 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) from the seat of Shangri-La County. Construction began in 1679 and was completed in 1681. During the monasteries golden age over 3,000 monks lived and studied there. Built along the mountains with a magnificent facade, the monastery is a faithful imitation of the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. Covering an area of 33 hectares (82 acres), the monastery has solid walls and five gates. Two main lamaseries, Zhacang and Jikang, command the highest position in the architectural complex. As one of the largest lamaseries in the Kangzang (tri-province area of Tibet, Sichuan, and Yunnan) region, they are both Tibetan-style watchtowers and are surrounded by eight sub-lamaseries and the dormitories or the lamas.
¡ª  Pudacuo National Park
It is located in one of the most bio-diverse regions in the world. While the region comprises only 0.7 percent of China's land area, it contains more than 20 percent of the country's plant species, about one-third of its mammal and bird species, and almost 100 endangered species.Pudacuo qualifies as a natural wonderland according to any standard. It contains endemic species of fish found no where else in the world, rare and beautiful orchids, black-necked cranes, and taxus yunnanensis, a yew whose extracts are indispensable to the creation of many cancer-treating drugs. Nestled in the mountains of Southwest China, the park is an integral part of the Three Parallel Rivers Scenic Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Chinas most popular tourist destinations.

 

 

Day 8 :Shangrila/Zhongdian Departure

After breakfast, you'll be taken to the airport, and you'll fly back to Kunming. Once in Kunming you will fly on to your next destination, ending your tour.
