Day 1 Beijing Arrival
Welcome to Beijing, the capital of China, rich in history and culture.

Your lifetime China tour begins with welcome from your local guide at the Beijing airport. Then be escorted to your hotel in a private vehicle. The rest of today is yours to acclimatize or explore the vast metropolis on your own.

 

Day 2 Beijing ( B, L )
Today's tour begins to visit the Tiananmen Square, the world's largest plaza. Walking through Tiananmen Gate, you'll enter the splendid Forbidden City, China's No.1 palace complex adorned with imperial treasures.

In the afternoon, you'll visit a Siheyuan local family and experience what their life is like. And you can learn to cook some Chinese dumplings if you like. Then, you'll take a lifetime rickshaw tour the ancient alleyway of Hutongs that are still keeping the original layout in the Shichahai area.

After the tour, back to your hotel.

 


Day 3 Beijing ( B, L )
This morning tour will take you to size up the world-famous Great Wall (Mutianyu section), the key symbol of China. Flexible visiting time allows you to enjoy a lifetime trekking trip (1-2 hours' hiking), or witness the breathtaking views of this man-made wonder by taking a cable car.

After the Wall visit, you'll explore the Ding Tomb of Ming Imperial Tombs. On the way back to the city, you can make a stop at the Beijing Olympic Village to take some pictures of the world-famed "Bird's Nest" and the "Water Cube" from the outside.

Evening Ideas: try the flavorful dish of Peking Roast Duck Dinner in this evening. (Optional)

 


Day 4 Xian to Beijing ( B, L )
In the morning, you'll marvel at the Temple of Heaven where the emperors worshipped heaven and prayed for peace and harvest.

Then you will be escorted to the airport for a 2-hour flight to Xian, the ancient heart of China. Upon arrival in Xian, your local guide will greet and guide you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free on your own.

 


Day 5 Xian ( B, L )
Today your first stop is to join the ranks of the incredible Terracotta Warriors, the forbidding sentinels of a death defying emperor, starting out through the silent millennia of history.

In the afternoon, visit the Ancient City Walls, the largest and best-kept city walls on earth. Strolling on the Walls is quite an enjoyable experience. Today's tour ends to visit the Bell Tower, a famous landmark of Xian ancient city.

Recommended Activities (Optional): You can rent a bike and cycle on the wall or have a local dumpling dinner and enjoy the famous Tang Dynasty Show.

Day 6 Luoyang to Xian ( B, L )
Today after breakfast, you'll visit the Great Mosque, a tranquil and historic mosque that has served Xian's Muslim community for more than a millennium. By the way, you'll stop by the Muslim Community.

Then head to the age-old Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the symbol of the old-line Xian, a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists.

You will then be escorted to the railway station for your Express train to Luoyang. Upon your arrival at Luoyang, our local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free at your own leisure.

 

Day 7 Luoyang ( B, L )
After breakfast, your guide and driver will take you to visit Longmen Grottoes. Densely scattered along the cliffs on both banks of Yi River, the UNESCO World Heritage Site Longmen Grottoes contain the largest and most impressive collection of Chinese art of the late Northern Wei and Tang Dynasties (316-907). You'll appreciate the Chinese Buddhist art by visiting the major caves (Fengxian Temple, Guyang Cave, Three Bingyang Caves etc.) with notable displays of Buddhist sculptures and calligraphic inscriptions.

Then, proceed to visit White Horse Temple, built in Western Han Dynasty. With a history of 1900 years, the temple is regarded as the ¡°No.1 Ancient Temple under Heaven¡±.

 

Day 8 Luoyang to Dengfeng to Zhengzhou ( B, L )
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to Dengfeng to a Shaolin kungfu martial arts school to take a morning class with local student monks.

Later, visit Shaolin Temple, the birthplace of Zen Buddhism and the cradle of Kung Fu. ¡°All martial arts under heaven arose out Shaolin¡±. In Shaolin Monastery, you could explore the authentic Shaolin Kung Fu. Then continue your visit to the Pagoda Forest, where hundreds of stone pagodas, memorials to past monks, are tightly grouped together in a forest.

Catch the chance to watch the exciting Shaolin Kung Fu performance at Martial Arts Hall. You could choose to watch the show for free in the time of 10:30-11:00; 11:30-12:00; 14:00-14:30; 15:00-15:30; 16:00-16:30. In the show, the typical Shaolin Kung Fu ¡°Shaolin Boxing¡±, ¡°Shaolin Stick¡± and ¡°Tongzigong¡± etc. are performed.

After the tour, drive to Zhengzhou city and stay overnight there.

 

Day 9 Zhengzhou to Chengdu (B, L, D)
Free in the morning until being picked up and driven to Zhengzhou Airport to catch your flight to the next destination.

Upon arriving in Chengdu, your personal guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. After a little break, you will explore the Kuan Zhai Alley. Being the typical epitome of Chengdu, Kuan Zhai Alley is the combination of history and modern changes. In the evening, you will enjoy a delicious dinner of Sichuan cuisine at a local restaurant.

 

Day 10 Chengdu ( B, L )
Today you will first have a visit to the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, where you can explore the daily life of the cute pandas, and get close to the lovely creatures. (Option: You could talk to our guide about option of booking to hold a baby panda for once in a lifetime experience. It needs about 2000 RMB which will be the donation fee, helping to save the endangered giant pandas.)

After happy hours with pandas, drive to Wenshu Temple, a typical ancient monastery of Qing Dynasty in downtown Chengdu, where you can see local prayers worshiping and lighting incense. After lunch, you will visit Renmin Park to experience the most authentic Chengdu local life and have a cup of tea in the traditional teahouse.

At the late afternoon, you will move on to Jinli Old Street, one of the oldest streets to appreciate the local snacks and artifacts. For photographers, visit here in the evening will be the best time to get better photos with all the red lanterns lit up in the dusk.

 

Day 11 Chengdu to Shanghai( B )
Today, you will visit the Dufu Thatched Cottage which is a museum in honor of Dufu (712 -770 AD), who was the greatest realist poet and has been famed as the Sage of Poetry.

Then our local guide escorts you to the airport for your onward flight to Shanghai. Upon your arrival in Shanghai, the world everyone knows city, our local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free at your own leisure.

 

Day 12 Shanghai ( B, L )
After breakfast, you'll visit the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, a must-see for all true Shanghainophiles to witness how Shanghai became a cosmopolitan city from a shabby fishing village.

Then walk leisurely around the beautiful Yu Garden, a pleasant enough, well-contained classical Chinese garden, and savor some local flavor snacks at the Yu Garden Bazaar. Later to visit the French Concession to appreciate its old French-style villas and special colonial culture.
Evening Ideas: enjoy the breathtaking Acrobatic Show in this evening. (Optional)

 

Day 13 Shanghai Departure ( B, L )
After breakfast, head to the famous Bund to witness Shanghai's skyline, and stroll along China's No.1 shopping street, Nanjing Road.

Then ascend the Jinmao Tower to get an amazing bird's eye view of this metropolis. Then continue to Jade Buddha Temple to admire the largest jade Buddha in the world and exquisite religious artifacts.

After the tour, be transferred to the airport for your flight to next destination or back to home.
