Day 1 Xiamen Arrival
Welcome to Xiamen, the Garden City on the Sea! Clear the customs and retrieve your baggage by yourself upon arrival, be greeted by our tour guide in the airport or train station who is holding a sign on which says your name. A comfortable vehicle (non-smoking) with experienced driver will transfer you directly to your hotel. Your guide will help you check in. The rest of today is on your own to explore this beautiful city.


Day 2 Xiamen - Yongding - Xiamen (B, L)
After breakfast, take a 3.5-hour scenic drive to see the earth buildings in Yongding County. you'll visit Chuxi Tulou Cluster and Hongkeng Tulou Cluster. After the tour, transfer back to Xiamen City.

Chuxi Tulou Cluster: It has the five large circular buildings and ten rectangular buildings. Jiqinglou is the oldest with a history of 600 years and most special round earth buildings in this area. All rooms, stairways and interior walls are constructed with wood and rabbet structure. Not even a single nail is used for the construction and the earth building remains intact after 600 years. Jiqinglou also houses more than 10,000 exhibits about the unique life, history and culture of the Hakka people.

Hongkeng Tulou Cluster: it is the most concentrated of all earthen house clusters. Some of the house designs are unique, including the Zhenchenglou (a magnificent building combining the Chinese style with the western style), Fuyulou (Five-Phoenix House), Kuijulou (a palace style building) and Rushenglou (a mini-sized circular building).


Day 3 Xiamen to Wuyishan (B, L)
Today you'll start to visit the cultural relics Hulishan Fortress. Built in 1891, during the Guangxu reign in the Qing Dynasty, it has always been an important landmark in the island's history, also serving a key role to the country defense against the Japanese in 1900 and 1937.

Later, transfer to the ferry for a 5-minute boat trip to Gulangyu Island from Xiamen City. Start to visit Sunlight Rock, the highest point of Gulangyu, to have a panoramic view of both Gulangyu and Xiamen. Also visit to Shuzhuang Garden, a beautiful seaside garden and the famous Piano Museum with a collection of 80-fold rare old pianos from all over the world.

Then, head to South Putuo Temple which first built in Tang Dynasty. It is renowned for its collection of Buddhist cultural relics, such as a Burmese jade carving of the Buddha, some important Buddhist texts. Standing at the top of the Wulao Peak, you can enjoy the bird's eye view of Xiamen University and Xiamen Port.

After the tour, your guide and driver will escort you the airport to catch the flight to Wuyishan. Stay overnight in Wuyishan.


Day 4 Mount Wuyi (B)
A full day to enjoy the natural beauty of Mount Wuyi, the world Natural and Cultural Heritage Sites. Float down the Jiuqu (Nine Bend) Stream on bamboo rafts fitted with rattan chairs. Visit Wuyi Palace and ancient Song Street, and climb up Tianyou Peak, the sheer rock peak that just rise skywards, to have a bird's eye view of the magnificent mountain.

Mount Wuyi: It is the most outstanding area for biodiversity conservation in south-east China and a refuge for a large number of ancient, relic species, many of them endemic to China. The mountains have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999.


Day 5 Wuyishan Departure (B)
In the morning, you'll first appreciate Qinglong Waterfall, the largest waterfall in this mountain. Then, head to Xiamei Ancient Village. The walk in the Xiamei Village brings you back in time to Ming (1368 - 1644) and the Qing (1644 - 1911) Dynasties. Most of buildings are very well preserved and featuring the sculpture of brisk, wood and stone, which is one part of the Wuyi World culture heritage.

After the tour, your guide will pick you up from the hotel to the airport in time for the scheduled flight to your next destination, or back home.
