Day 1 Shanghai Arrival
Welcome to Shanghai, the most metropolis of China!
Upon arrival at Shanghai airport, you'll be met and taken to have an 8-minute high-tech Maglev Train. It's not a bird or a plane, just Shanghai's Maglev Train, the world's fastest train running 430km/hr. Your driver is ready to pick you up at the Longyang Road station, and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of today is at your leisure.

 

Day 2 Shanghai ( B, L )
After breakfast, you'll visit the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, a must-see for all true Shanghainophiles to witness how Shanghai became a cosmopolitan city from a shabby fishing village.
Then walk leisurely around the beautiful Yu Garden, a pleasant enough, well-contained classical Chinese garden, and savor some local flavor snacks at the Yu Garden Bazaar. Later to visit the French Concession to appreciate its old French-style villas and special colonial culture.
Evening Ideas: enjoy the breathtaking Acrobatic Show in this evening. (Optional)

 

Day 3 Shanghai & Flight to Yunnan ( B, L )
After breakfast, head to the famous Bund to witness Shanghai's skyline, and stroll along China's No.1 shopping street, Nanjing Road.

Then ascend the Jinmao Tower to get an amazing bird's eye view of this metropolis. Then continue to Jade Buddha Temple to admire the largest jade Buddha in the world and exquisite religious artifacts.

Being free until transferred to the airport and take a flight to Lijiang ancient town, to witness the exotic ethnic cultures in China's remote southwest. Upon your arrival in Lijiang, be met and transferred to your hotel.

 

Day 4 Lijiang ( B, L )
Today, your guide and driver will escort you Yuhu Village which is located in the south of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. When walk around this authentic Naxi Village, you'll see unique stone house, naxi ladies dressing in traditional clothes, a wooden fish is hunging in the middle of the roof, the kids playing¡­Then you get to the Former Residence of Joseph Rock, who is an Austrian-American Botanist came in Lijiang and stayed in Yuhu Village for 27 years.
After that, visit the ancient Baisha Mural Paintings at Baisha Village. Painted over 1000 years ago, the murals combine the cultures of Han, Tibetan and Naxi people displaying the life stories of the Tibet Buddhism, Confucian and Taoism. Then, followed a trip to Shuhe Ancient Town - a component of Lijiang Old Town listed as UNESCO World Heritage in 1997.
Later, head for Black Dragon Pool Park and the Naxi Dongba Culture Museum where you can learn Naxi pictograph character and explore the rich Naxi minority culture in the museum.

 

Day 5 Lijiang ( B, L )
Today you'll be driven to the old town of Shigu (Stone Drum) to see the Iron Chain Bridge which the Red Army used to cross the river during the Long March in 1930s. Then head to marvel at the stunning First Bend of the Yangtze River and have a little challenging trek to the famous Tiger Leaping Gorge.
Later, you'll drive to Shangri La, about 100km. You'll enjoy the enchanting natural scenes on the way.

 

Day 6 Shangri La ( B, L )
Today is a full day to explore the on-earth paradise described in the famous novel Lost Horizon by James Hilton.
You'll visit the Songzanlin Lamasery to be touched about how the simple Tibetan keeps their pure and religious belief in this temporal world. Later take a leisurely walk beside the beautiful Bitahai and Shudu Lakes, feel marvel for the nature's masterpiece.
In the evening, pay a visit to a local Tibetan family and experience the highly-praised hospitality of Tibetan people.

 

Day 7 Flight to Kunming ( B, L )
Free until being escorted to the airport for your flight to Kunming. Upon arrival, be met and transferred to your hotel in Kunming. After a short rest, head to the Flower Market, Kunming is a city of 'flower'.
Then go to visit the West Hill, looking like a beautiful young lady lying beside Dianchi Lake. Stop by to see the magic Dragon Gate.

 

Day 8 Kunming ( B, L )
Today your first stop is the renowned Stone Forest, the 'First Wonder of the World'. You'll marvel at its natural stone masterpieces and be bewitched by the intricate formations. You feel like come into a 'stone world'.
Afterwards, visit a minority village of Sani People, to admire their colorful minority costumes and exotic tradition cultures. You'll have a nice chance to listen to the touching love story of Ashima told by local old people.

 

Day 9 Flight to Xian from Kunming ( B )
Free until being escorted to the airport for your flight to Xian. Upon arrival, be met and transferred to your hotel in Xian.
The rest of today is free at your leisure to explore the ancient heart of China.

 

Day 10 Xian ( B, L )
Today your first stop is to join the ranks of the incredible Terracotta Warriors, the forbidding sentinels of a death defying emperor, starting out through the silent millennia of history.
In the afternoon, visit the Ancient City Walls, the largest and best-kept city walls on earth. Strolling on the Walls is quite an enjoyable experience. Today's tour ends to visit the Bell Tower, a famous landmark of Xian ancient city.
Recommended Activities (Optional): You can rent a bike and cycle on the wall or have a local dumpling dinner and enjoy the famous Tang Dynasty Show.

 

Day 11 Xian ( B, L )
Today after breakfast, you'll visit the Great Mosque, a tranquil and historic mosque that has served Xian's Muslim community for more than a millennium. By the way, you'll stop by the Muslim Community.
Then head to the age-old Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the symbol of the old-line Xian, a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists.
After the tour, be transferred to the airport and take a flight to Beijing, the capital city of China. Be met and transferred to your hotel by the local guide and the rest of today is free at your leisure.

 

Day 12 Beijing ( B, L )
After breakfast, start to explore the historical face of Beijing with a brief visit to Tiananmen Square, now the largest city plaza in the world. Tiananmen Gate on the northern side of the square was the site where Chairman Mao announced the establishment of the People's Republic of China.
Stepping into the Tiananmen, you will see one of the world's five most important palaces ¨C the Forbidden City, a huge palace complex of more than 9,000 rooms where 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties lived. Pass through various doorways in this magnificent structure to admire the beautiful and well preserved buildings decorated with yellow-glazed tile roofs, white marble bases and splendid colorful paintings.
After lunch, drive to the outskirts of Beijing to spend an enjoyable time in the Summer Palace, the largest and best-preserved royal garden in China. Stroll around ancient pavilions, mansions, temples, bridges and corridors while feasting your eyes on the vast lotus in Kunming Lake and the colorful paintings in the Long Corridor.
Optional activities: 1) You can watch a wonderful Kungfu Show in the Red Theater (Hong Ju Chang) which usually starts at 19:30; 2) Enjoy the classic Chinese art performance of Beijing Opera at Liyuan Theater between 19:30-21:00. 

 

Day 13 Beijing ( B, L )
After breakfast, drive about 70km to witness one of the Seven Wonders of the World ¨C the Great Wall. Visit the Mutianyu, a less crowded yet well-preserved segment of the Great Wall built in the Ming Dynasty. It will more than live up to all of your expectations! This great wall, linking Gubeikou in the east and Juyongguan in the west, was served as the vital military strategic point in the ancient time. Moreover, Mutianyu section is the ¡°longest great wall in China¡± so far and since protection work is well done here, tourists can now see its original appearance and enjoy the real ancient culture of great wall. Also, spectacular natural scenery in Mutianyu Great Wall always impresses visitors here for its abundant vegetation. You can take a cable car or an enjoyable 40 minute walk to set your feet on the historic Great Wall. Then climb up its rising towers to enjoy scenic views of the wall as it wriggles along mountain ridges and you take brag-worthy photos.
Continue your trip to Ding Tomb, the mausoleum of a 13th century emperor of the Ming Dynasty. Follow your tour guide to observe its geomantic arrangement as well as visit the underground palace for a closer observation. Then drive back to Beijing City and take a short stop at the Beijing Olympic Village to view its famous Bird's Nest and Water Cube from the outside.
Optional activity: After the whole day's tour, treat yourself a great dinner to taste the famous Peking Roasted Duck at Quanjude.

 

Day 14 Beijing Departure ( B, L )
After breakfast, you are going to visit the famous imperial site - Summer Palace (driving for 20 km and about 40 mins), the largest and best-preserved royal garden in China. It used to be the private garden for Royal families of Qing Dynasty to decamp during the hot summer days. The palace has assembled almost the best design, skill and classic features of traditional gardening architecture of ancient China.Stroll around ancient pavilions, mansions, temples, bridges and corridors. Feast your eyes on the vast lotus in Kunming Lake and the colored paintings in Long Corridor.
Drive back to the city center. The rest day is free for you until your tour guide escort you to the airport for your flight to next destination. Our service ends.
