Day 1 Urumqi Arrival

Take a sightseeing of Urumqi which means the beautiful pastureland in Mongolian Language. It is the largest city in China's western interior. Check into the hotel upon arrival. we will have a group dinner. We will arrange the airport transfer based on your flight time.

 

Day 2 Urumqi/Heavenly Lake (120kms, 1.5hrs driving)

Sites visited: Heavenly Lake, International Grand Bazaar and the souvenir store

AM drive to Heavenly Lake and enjoy the cruise on the lake---There are eight beautiful scenic spots in the lake scenic area, they are ¡°A Ray of Stone Gate¡±, ¡°Dragon's Pool and Green Moon¡±, ¡°Magic Needle for Guarding the See¡±, ¡°Three Stones Bearing the Sky¡±,¡°the Snowcapped Southern Mountain¡±,¡°Pine Billows in Western Mountain¡±,¡°the Hanging Waterfall¡±, and the ¡°Sea Peak's Sunrise .visit the International Grand Bazaar and the souvenir store You'll find a bustling market filled with fruit, clothing, crafts, knives, carpets and almost anything that you can imagine. On Sunday, there are more stalls and more goods to buy than any other day.

 

Day 3 Urumqi/Turpan( 180 kms, 2.5--3hrs driving)

Sites visited: Xinjiang Museum, Flaming Mountain

After breakfast visit the Xinjiang Museumand then head to Turpan and visit the Gaochang Ruins¡ªthe political, economic, and cultural center of Xinjiang in ancient times.Flaming Mountain--- During mid-afternoon the heat becomes intense as the sun's rays are reflected off the red rocks, as though the hillsides areengulfed by tongues of fire, hence the name.Grape Valley, and local Uyger family enjoy the fruit.-- Turpan is a kingdom of Grapes, all the local uyger families plant the grapes at the back of their house. Local Uyger family visiting is a special experience for you to know their lifestyle in the fireland.

 

Day 4 Turpan/Hami(400kms, 5-6hrs driving)

Sites visited: Karez Irrigation System, Tuyoq village, Mausoleum of Hami Islamic King

After breakfast visit the Karez Irrigation System----a unique irrigation system in Turfan, which, taking advantage of the slopes, draws the underground water flow by itself to irrigate farmland.visit the Sugong Minerat. and then drive to Hami, visit the Tuyoq village en route The caves lies 65 kilometers to the east of the city of Turfan and are constructed or dug in eastern and western cliffs in Tuyoq valley . Among more than 40 caves, there are 10 preserving murals. They are considered to be the earliest caves in Turfan, Murals are mostly damaged, but unique in style and visit Mausoleum of Hami Islamic King---which was built in 1840 and the wall of the tomb is all decorated with glazed bricks and tiles

 

Day 5 Hami/Dunhuang(430 kms, 5--6hrs driving)

Sites visited: the Sand Dune and Crescent Lake, the Shazhou Night Market

fter breakfast drive to Dunhuang and visit the Sand Dune and Crescent Lake----is quite literally an oasis in the desert. The spring's name derives from the crescent moon shape taken by the small pool of spring water between two large sand dunes. Although the area is very dry, the pool doesn't dry up as one might expect.and after dinner visit the Shazhou Night Market, It is not only famous for its tasty snacks and local specialties but also for its well-regulated management. The whole night market is 1000 meters long in total. There are shops selling handworks and souvenirs, food stalls and fruit stands. When the fruit season comes, visitors can buy juicy fruits at reasonable prices.

 

Day 6 Dunhuang Jiayuguan(460kms, 5--6hrs driving)

Sites visited: Mogao Caves, the Jiayuguan Pass

After breakfast Visit Mogao Caves---Constructed over a millennium, from the 4th to the 14th centuries, the caves hold the world's richest treasure house of Buddhist sutras, murals and sculptures.Cameras are not permitted.
Then head to Jiayuguan and visit the The Jiayuguan Pass represents the western starting point of a section of the Great Wall constructed during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The pass covers an area of 33,500 square meters (eight acres) and lies at the base of a narrow valley.

 

Day 7 Jiayuguan/Wuwei via Zhangye (6hrs driving)

Sites visited: the Jiuquan Bell, Night Cup Factory, Giant Budda

In the morning drive about (250kms 3-4hrs) to Zhangye and visit the Jiuquan Bell tower passing by. then visit Night Cup Factory , when arrive in Zhangye you will take a look of Giant Budda ---- is the largest architectural relic in Gansu Province of the Western Xia (1038-1227) period. China's largest reclining Buddha is well preserved in this temple.and then head to Wuwei which is about 230kms with 3hrs driving.

 

Day 8 Wuwei/Lanzhou (260kms, 4--5hrs driving)

Sites visited: the Leitai Tomb of Han Dynasty, the Huanghe Mother Statue, White Pagoda Park, Waterwhill Park

After breakfast visit the Leitai Tomb of Han Dynasty--- the Galloping Bronze Horse was unearthed from a Han Dynasty Tomb under the Leitai Terrace. According to the inscriptions on the chest of the horse tomb figure unearthed, it was the tomb of "Shou Zhang Ye Zhang Zhang Jun" (General Zhang of Zhang Ye) built between 186 to 219 A.D, ?Drive to Lanzhou and visit the Huanghe Mother Statue, White Pagoda Park, and Waterwhill Park upon arrival. and check into the hotel.

 

Day 9 Lanzhou/Xining

Sites visited: the Ta'er Monastery

After breakfast Head to Xining after check out. check into the hotel and then visit the Ta'er Monastery -- one of six Yellow Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It is also named Kumbum Monastery. Kumbum was founded in 1583 in a narrow valley close to the village of Lusar ?in the Tibetan cultural region of Amdo.

 

Day 10 Xining/Xi'an by soft sleeper train

Sites visited: Qinghai Lake

After Breakfast visit the Qinghai Lake, it is the largest inland and salt water lake in China,Qinghai Lake is a miracle that is endowed by a deity. Outside, he circles the lake with four continuous mountains and extends broad grassland at the foot of them. Inside, like a master baker. after dinner take the soft sleeper train to Xi'an.

 

Day 11 Xi'an

Sites visited: Ancient City Wall

Our nice guide will meet you at the train station and after breakfast and visit Wild Goose Pagoda -- where widely renowned Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his classics brought from India.
Ancient City Wall---- An extension of the old Tang Dynasty structure boasting the most complete city wall that survives through Chinese long history. Bell Tower-- The emblem of Xian city.

 

Day 12 Xi'an

Sites visited: Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, Huaqingchi Pool

Today you will take the city sightseeing visit Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses--- The greatest archaeological findings of the century: the army of terra-cotta warriors and the bronze chariots entombed in vast underground vaults at emperor Qin's tomb.
Huaqingchi Pool--- it is a masterpiece of ancient Chinese gardens. It has a hot spring pond and auxiliary structures built for imperial concubine Yang of the Tang Dynasty

 

Day 13 Xi'an Departure
