Day 1 Kunming
Arrival in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province. Meet and transfer
to your hotel.
Accommodation: Overnight in Kunming


Day 2 Kunming
Sightsee in Dragon Gate in Western Hills, a group of grottoes, sculptures, corridors and pavilions chiseled from the cliff. You can get views of Lake Dian. In the afternoon, visit Cuihu Park, a city central lake where local people have pleasure time, and Bird and Plant Market, a daily market where local people sell birds, animal pets, indoor plants and flower. Enjoy Dynamic Yunnan in the evening.

Day 3  Kunming - Stone Forest - Kunming
Drive to visit Stone Forest, which is called the "No.1 Wonder under Heaven". The area is a deeply eroded limestone Karst area. The unique natural scenic and Sani people's folklore are characteristics of the Stone Forest Scenic Area. Return journey to Kunming Transfer to visit Golden Temple, a Taoist temple (completed made of bronze) that was the idea of General Wu Sangui, a turncoat rebel warlord who used the Temple as his summer residence.

Day 4 Kunming - Zhongdian
Take morning flight from Kunming to Zhongdian, the home of the Tibetan. Transfer to your hotel for a short rest. Drive to visit Ringha Temple and Tibet village nearby. The temple keeps an important place in the Tibetan community that they consider it as the one of the five most important Tibetan monasteries among Yunnan. Transfer to view Napahai Lake Natural Reserve Area+Tibet village, with altitude of 3,266meters, which lies 8 kilometers northwest of Zhongdian Old Town and is a seasonal lake. Then depart to visit Tsongzanlin Monastery, or known as ¡°Little Potala¡± according to its appearance, is a traditional Lama monastery. It was built in 1679 and has been reconstructed several times as it is considered to be one of the most significant monasteries in Yunnan. In the evening, wander through Old Town.

Day 5 Zhongdian - Tiger Leaping Gorge - Lijiang
Drive from Zhongdian to Lijiang. Stop to visit the tremendous Tiger Leaping Gorge, where the river forces its way between Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain. Shigu Town on the half way. The reason for the name of the town is that there is a drum-shaped tombstone in the town with the inscription recording the story that Mu Gao, the Naxi chieftain, beat the Tibetan. And that is the reason why the town was named as ¡°Shi-gu¡± (Literally translated from Chinese as ¡°Stone Drum¡±). On arrival in Lijiang, visit its Old Town which was named a World Heritage Site by the United Nations. Meal: Breakfast /

Day 6 Lijiang
Drive to visit Yufeng Monastery, a lama temple, which is famous for a 500-year-old camellia and is said to produce 10,000 blossoms in spring each year. Baisha Village and Wall Painting, the old capital of the Naxi, where you can admire the frescoes on one of its ancient temples. Sightsee in and Shuhe Old Town, a Naxi old town with fewer tourists. Walk in the Black Dragon Park and visit the Dongba Culture Museum. Enjoy performance of Xaxi ancient music in the evening.

Day 7 Lijiang - Dali
Drive from Lijiang to Dali. On arrival in Dali, transfer to visit to Shuanglang fishing village, a typical Bai village on the east bank of Erhai Lake, Few tourist visit here. Then drive to Zhoucheng Bai's village to visit workmanship of batik, and Xizhou Bai's village to visit Bai people's family house, taste three courses tea. Wander through Dali Old Town in the evening.

Day 8 Dali
Transfer to embark on a boat in Erhai lake. We may have chance to visit lakeside village. Drive to visit Three Pagodas£¬the landmark of Dali, which were built during the Tang and Song dynasty. Balance of the day, Sightseeing in and around Ancient Dali Town, an ancient walled town set between sparkling Lake Erhai and the 12,000-foot Cangshan Mountains.

Day 9 Dali -Jinghong
Short Free leisure time in Dali Old Town. Drive to the Dali airport and take air from Dali to Jinghong, the capital of Xishuangbanna and the home of Dai people. On arrival in Jinghong, Transfer to visit Sanchahe Natural Reserve (known as Wild Elephant Valley), which is actually a nature reserve for tropical rainforest and wild lives. It has an area of nearly 1.5million hectares. Here in jungle live wild Asian elephants. Wild elephants usually come out at night, so local people built tree houses in forest for tourists who want to observe elephants. A 2 ¨Ckilometer long cable which runs over the tree tops from the main entrance into the heart of the park enables people to enjoy rainforest view from the air. Return journey to Jinghong.

Day 10 Jinghong
Depart to visit Menglun Tropical Botanical Garden. Stop to visit Ganlan Ba, also known as Menghan. It is a basin by the Mekong. With fertile land, abounding in rice and various tropical fruits and busling morning market, it has always been a very traditional inhabiting area of Dai nationality, vast paddy field in the countryside dotted with numerous Dai villages spreads out a very peaceful picture of rustic life. Linger through Dai minority village. Menglun Tropical Botanical Garden, established in 1959, is about 90 kilometers from Jinghong. Covering an area of 860 ha, the garden grows thousands upon thousands of varieties of tropical and subtropical plants from home and abroad, including many rare exotic and endangered plant species. The garden is regarded as the ¡°Green Germ on the Crown of the Plant Kingdom¡±. Return journey to Jinghong on the same day.

Day 11 Jinghong - Mekong Cruise -Chiang Saen
Drive to Jinghong wharf, where you board the speed boat to Chiang Sane of Thailand. The journey cruising dowm the Mekong will take 10 hours (Dep. time 08:00, Arr. Time 18:00 ). Enjoy the scenery on the both banks of Mekong.

Transport: Speed boat from Jinghong to Chiang Saen


Day 12 Chiang Saen
Transfer to have a visit of the Golden Buddha of Sop Ruak and the new Hall of Opium. This fascinating museum, sponsored by the royal family of Thailand, gives a deep background on the history and politics of the opium trade and the health effects of opium abuse. Chiang Saen once served as the crowing location for the kings of Lanna or Chiang Mai, and history is well preserved here.

Day 13 Chiang Saen - Chiang Khong - Pakbeng
Drive to Chiang Khong to take a local boat starting your cruise down the Mekong River. Along the way to the town of Pakbeng. Stop to visit Kamu village at Ban Houy Phalam. Arrive at Pakbeng around sunset where you will check into a lodge for an overnight stay.
Meal: Breakfast / Lunch on board / Dinner served at the lodge

Day 14 Pakbeng - Luang Prabang
Board the boat and continue cruising to Luang Prabang. Firstly stop to visit Ban Baw, a small village known for making traditional rice whisky. Secondly stop to visit Tham Ting cave at Pak Ou, where thousands of Buddha statues are found.

Day 15  Luang Prabang
Have a city tour of Luang Prabang, the former royal capital of Laos, with numerous Buddhist Monuments, French and Laotian Style houses. Transfer to visit Wat Xieng Thong with striking buildings of tiled roofs and gold and red colors. The Royal Palace with elephant throne and traditional musical instruments and enjoy sunset at Phousi Hill. Linger through night market in the evening.

Day 16 Luang Prabang Departure
Depart to the airport, where this tour ends.
