Day 1 - Xi'an - Cave Dwelling (L,D)
You will leave the hotel around 9:30 am and will go south into the Qinling Mountains where you will discover by vintage side car the beautiful Loess plateau and its sweeping canyons. Follow your insider among the maze of historical wonders, visit troglodyte locals still living in cave dwellings. Even though we can't give an exact figure, millions of people in China still live in cave dwellings that are built into the loess rock. Loess is a type of sedimentary rock that is the result of an accumulation of silt transported by the winds and from which this region takes its name as the ¡°land of the loess¡±.

Lunch on the Loess plateau.

You will visit a blacksmith that still forge traditional weapons, a good opportunity to see local crafts. Transfer back to the outskirts of Xi'an and visit of the Art district modeled on the previously underground and increasingly popular 798 in Beijing. It is known here in Xi'an as the ¡®Textile City Art Area' and it is located very near to the Ban Po Ancient Village. Head to Wang family cave dwelling. Dinner & Night in Wang family cave dwelling

Note: the house has potable water well and electricity! But rooms don't have modern shower or bathtub, just a kind of traditional basin -with hot and cold water at disposal- hidden by a clothing screen). The house can arrange 6 pax maximum and 6 pax more in neighbor's cave.

Day 2 - Xi'an (B,L)
After the breakfast you will head by jeep to the world famous Terra Cotta Warriors !

In 1974, a few farmers stumbled upon the Warriors by accident. Now, we can only wonder what those original farmers felt when they first laid eyes on the thousands of soldiers lined up in battle formation. They had just discovered one of the greatest archeological finds in history!

Incidentally, we now have this wonder to view because of Qin Shi Huangdi's fear of malevolent spirits. Qin Shi Huangdi built a mausoleum to have his immense army of infantrymen, archers, and cavalry riders to protect him in the Afterlife. Each one of the Terra Cotta Warriors has a different face from a soldier during the Emperor's life. Historians theorize that the Emperor may have wanted to rule the world from the Afterlife.

The statues you can view are separated in three pits. You will begin with the pits number 2 (that is still being excavated) and number 3 (that shelters the majority of items).  You will end with pit number 1, the most impressive one with about 2000 warriors.

Otherwise there is a small museum on site that houses two splendid bronze chariots found in 1980 west of the mausoleum. You can now see them on display along with other artifacts.

You will head to a vineyard built by a prominent architect for lunch and wine tasting; you will meet the local population and see the 1400 years old Temple where thousands of ancient Buddhist sculptures hidden deep in the forest and listen to the anecdotes of local elders that has miraculously survived earthquakes and revolutions.

Transfer back to Xi'an
